Winding down a business requires time. To minimize risk and maximize value, deliberate and careful planning, as well as strategic communications to all vested parties, are crucial to a successful transition process.
Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC Partner F. Duffield Meyercord will present the necessary steps to Navigating the Wind-Down of a Business in a presentation for the Atlanta Venture Forum on Wednesday, May 12. The event, which begins at 7:30 a.m., will be held at Maggiano's Little Italy, 3368 Peachtree Road, Buckhead, Ga.
During his presentation, Meyercord will discuss the planning process and the various options a company has in closing, including federal bankruptcy law options, out-of-court foreclosure, and non-bankruptcy court options. Meyercord also will present the major components of a closure, liquidation of assets, and the risks and issues to consider before closing the doors.
Founded in 1984 to foster closer professional relationships among the members of the Southeast private equity community through the exchange of information and ideas, the Atlanta Venture Forum has grown into the largest trade association for private equity investors in the Southeast.
