Carl Marks Named to The Deal's Q4 Bankruptcy League Table

Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC was listed among top investment banking firms in The Deal's 2010 fourth-quarter bankruptcy league tables, ranking ninth in numbers and 12th in volume with 11 cases. Two of its investment bankers also were named to the list of top investment bankers. Partner Christopher K. Wu ranked 7th; Mark L. Claster, Partner of Carl Marks Advisory Group and President of its parent company, Carl Marks & Co., ranked 11th among investment bankers.

Carl Marks' investment banking division has experienced significant growth over the past several years. Claster observed that the firm's success in investment banking is a natural outgrowth of its corporate revitalization business, with clients increasingly turning to Carl Marks as its bankers continue to frontline significant bankruptcy engagements. Moreover, Claster noted that this recessionary cycle has created increased demand for investment banking services as companies have focused on balance sheet and capital solutions to restructurings.
