Carl Marks Advisory Group LLC (CMAG), the corporate revitalization and investment banking firm headquartered in New York, has hired Charles C. Reardon as Partner and John Rakowski as Vice President for its new mid-Atlantic office in Tysons Corner, Va. Reardon and Rakowski join CMAG with a focus on growing the firm's investment banking practice and to expand CMAG's regional footprint. Currently, the firm has regional offices in Bedminster, N.J., and Charlotte, N.C.
Reardon brings more than 20 years of extensive expertise in mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, operational and financial restructuring, and real estate development to his new position with Carl Marks. Before joining CMAG, he was a member of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin's globally recognized Financial Restructuring Group.
Previously named among the nation's top debtor investment bankers by Bankruptcy Insider, Reardon has advised both public and private clients in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, defense, hospitality, retail, communications, and technology. He is a frequent speaker and featured panel participant on topics involving the financing and sale of both healthy and distressed businesses. Reardon is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Yale Law School.
Rakowski's expertise includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, capital raises and financial restructurings across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining CMAG, Rakowski was with Houlihan Lokey's Business Services practice, where he advised on a variety of engagements, including sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions, private placements, restructurings, financial valuations, and business analyses.
