Kevin Donahue's career spans more than 30 years across a wide range of professional experiences, including bet-the-company crises, issues and reputational challenges and 14 years in broadcast news and public affairs.
He works closely with board and senior management executives to develop and execute strategies that align employee and public communications to preserve an organizationís reputation and protect its business. Kevin specializes in preparing companies to communicate complex issues to employees, customers, the investment community, the media and other stakeholders in the face of major corporate events. These communications areas include restructuring, facility closings, union organizing and other difficult labor issues, high-profile litigation, product recalls, transactions, crises and other business issues that have a significant legal dimension. A key element of his work includes preparing CEOs and their teams to manage the news media and other stakeholders in the face of a developing crisis.
Kevin has provided crisis management and media relations counsel and training to senior management at many Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries, including airlines, trucking, chemical, automotive and other manufacturing, mining, healthcare, financial services and more. Kevin has also led crisis response teams in locations around the country involving workplace issues, environmental accidents, explosions, telecommunications issues and other business and reputational crises.
Prior to his present position as head of the Business & Reputation Management Group, Kevin served as Midwest Practice Leader of Reputational Risk & Crisis Management at Marsh, the worldís largest risk management and insurance broker. Kevinís responsibilities included building and leveraging collaborative relationships with law firms. Before joining Marsh, Kevin was Senior Managing Director of a large investor relations and strategic communications enterprise, where he created and led that firmís Crisis Management & Strategic Legal Communications Practice.
Kevin has spoken widely on the importance of legal/strategic communications collaboration on behalf of clients. He has developed and presented CLE courses to several law firms and industry associations across the country, been a board member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association for many years and currently serves on the Bar Foundation board. He served for many years on the board of the City Club of Cleveland, serving as the boardís elected president in 2005.
Kevin has led a number of client initiatives that have received recognition, including a Silver Anvil from PRSA and a "Project of the Year" designation from the International Public Relations Network.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Case Western Reserve University, and a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Marquette University.
