Graphic Design Internship

Summer (June - August) – Apply by February 1st

RESPONSIBILITIES

An Intern is offered a rich learning experience in which they are expected to provide support for creative department personnel in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, focusing on the basic concepts, procedures and functions of creative activities. Responsibilities are discussed and assigned by various creative team personnel on an as needed basis. Supporting client work is the primary function of an Intern. Through these activities, Interns are provided the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to and knowledge of the firm’s creative department basic operations, team structure and client service offerings. The specific scope of work within the Intern position is determined by the individual development of the Intern and his/her ability to perform and master the various creative aspects of client-related work.

 

  • Aptitude to perform graphic design from concept development to final production for marketing collateral, advertising, development of e-commerce and consumer websites, internet advertising and e-promotions
  • Possess a basic understanding of how to conceptualize and execute design solutions
  • Possess a basic understanding of a creative project process from concept to completion
  • Support the development, implementation and execution of creative work
  • Participate in internal and client group settings
  • Organize design files and properly prepare design files for production
  • Participate in ideation brainstorm sessions, internal and external
  • Execute and follow through on client requests and projects as assigned by creative staff in a timely and efficient manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to take ownership of a creative project and work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Possess the desire and initiative to go above and beyond outlined job expectations in order to make impactful, positive contributions to the creative team and the firm
  • Manage and prioritize creative assignments from internal staff on behalf of numerous clients; meet all deadlines
  • Operate in a flexible and adaptive manner within a fast-paced firm environment
  • Possess organizational and attention to detail abilities
  • Comply with all policies, procedures, standards and firm rules and expectations
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of design strategies, theories and activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferred majors in graphic design, visual communication or related field. Preferred senior status if still enrolled in school.
  • Student portfolio demonstrating a basic understanding of design principles and production
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • An understanding of HTML, interface and interactive design
  • An understanding of MS office programs
  • Professional telephone and office communication skills
  • Must have availability Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m
